Don C. Walker, MD, FACS

    Don Walker started on his journey at a very young age. A potentially crippling disorder required him to undergo multiple surgeries. Don was so impressed with the personal attention, time, caring attitude and dedication he received from renowned orthopedist Dr. Andrew Crenshaw, he decided to pursue medicine and fashioned himself after the doctor who saved him from a crippling condition.

Academic Background-
BS in Microbiology, summa cum laude. University of Tennesse, Knoxville.
MD, UT Medical College, Memphis, TN, 1977.
Surgical Residency Program, U. of Virginia. 1977
1987- Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. (re-certified, 1997)
1989- Inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (the "FACS" after "MD" in his title).

      Don has never waivered from his desire to set up a small community practice. In 1982 he discovered the lovely Newnan-Peachtree City area. In 1983 he established his private practice and has been here since.
      Dr. Walker is on staff with admitting, surgical and consulting privileges at our local hospitals (Newnan & Fayette). Dr. Walker can accommodate most routine surgeries including appendectomies, hysterectomies, hernia, gallbladder removal, and countless others.
      When warranted, Dr. Walker will not hesitate to refer patients to sub-specialists and maintains close relationships with clinics locally as well as at such nationally known centers as MD Anderson, Sloan- Kettering, and Johns Hopkins.
      Dr. Walker's third passion in life (after medicine and wife Pamela) is flying. He and Pamela, who also holds numerous FAA ratings, have combined their passion for medicine and flying by helping other pilots stay medically qualified. Dr. Walker became an Aviation Medical Examiner in 1989. He is a EAA Advocate for special aviation medical problems. He and his wife can be found at the local airport in their free time.
